Newsletter 11th September - Issue 2

Dear Parents and Carers

We are proud to say that our .....

  • Stars of the week in Dragonfly class are: Loris & Harley
  • Stars of the week in otter class are: Lana & Ellie
  • Stars of the week in Kingfisher class are: Issy & Georgina
  • Head teacher’s award/Team point winners are: Amber, Freya and Niall

It was lovely to see the whole school waving flags, wearing crowns and showing off their portraits of the Queen yesterday. The children all agreed that the Queen deserves one of our aspirational bubbles for perseverance and motivation!

This year, along with term 1’s learning topics and letters from each class teacher outlining organization and procedures, we are sending home the yearly plans for each class.

Our whole school homework timetable will be sent out next Tuesday.

At the end of last term we purchased some new maths and English resources from Pearson Education. As part of the package, the school community will have access to online learning resources. Shortly, pupils in Years 1 to 6 will receive unique log in information to a website to enable them access to specific learning resources at home. This will mean that we are no longer subscribed to Mathletics. If you are interested in continuing your child’s development and therefore subscribing to this service yourselves, please visit

Teachers were very delighted to be offered a sum of money for each class from the PSA. Once all the purchases have been itemized, we will provide a list of how the pupils have benefited from community kindness. Our next drive is to raise funds for providing high quality resources to match the new curriculum and to rid ourselves of old items that are no longer fit for purpose.

Please note that we are having an In Service Training day on 23rd October so the last day of term is 22nd October.

Best wishes and have a good weekend.

Lorna McIsaac
