Newsletter 15th April - Issue 27
Welcome back to school! We hope you all had a restful holiday and you have enjoyed the first week back. We started the term with a fantastic assembly on Robots, which led to some great science workshops and writing. The children thoroughly enjoyed working with robots and learning all about writing computer programs.
We are really excited to welcome two excellent teachers to our team this week; Samuel Miller to Kingfisher Class and Naomi Rawlinson to Dragonfly Class. We are holding a “Meet The Team” coffee afternoon next Wednesday (20 April) between 3.30 pm and 4.30 pm where parents can take the opportunity to get to know Samuel and Naomi. Warrick Barton, our new Head teacher who will be starting in September, will also be present so that you can also put a name to the face. We look forward to seeing you there.
KINGFISHER CLASS PARENTS EVENING
Due to the postponement of Parents Evening in March for Kingfisher children, a new date was set for 19 April. Those parents which have not made an appointment can still do so by popping into Reception or giving the office a call. We are looking for all parents/carers to attend.
KINGFISHER CLASS ARE GOING TO LIFESKILLS
Advance notice that Kingfisher Class will be going to the ‘Lifeskills Centre ‘at the Create Centre in Bristol on 4 May. It is a fantastic opportunity for the children to explore a range or skills and scenarios they may come across in life. A permission slip will be coming home early next week.
PTA FUN RUN RAFFLE TICKETS
Jim Plunkett came into school for a special assembly on Friday to help support and promote the local fun run. The children even had an opportunity to have a little run themselves! The PTA have successfully secured some excellent prizes for the Fun Run raffle. Tickets have been sent home so please return money, stubs and any unused tickets to the postbox in Reception. The draw will take place at 2.30 pm on Sunday 24 April.
