Message from Miss Bishop

It has been another busy week at Pensford and the children have been working hard on their learning. I have been around to observe all the children learning this week which was a real treat. They were able to articulate their learning and inspire me to find out more about the Egyptians and Mayans! They have been really challenging themselves in their extended writing pieces and SPAG lessons!

Don’t forget to ask them about Pensford’s Purple Challenges—these have been introduced in their books this week.

Reception children wrapped up warm this morning and went on a bug hunt in the outdoor area, developing their observation skills and questioning skills. A brilliant start to the term by all children.

Welcome to Active Kids 2016—SAINSBURY’S launch date 27th January

Please will you collect Sainsbury’s vouchers and ask friend s and family to collect too? Last year we exchanged our tokens that you worked hard to collect on lots of lovely kitchen utensils for the children to use in their lessons.

The Snow Queen Production - Friday 22nd January

We are really thankful to the PSA for funding this production and the children are really looking forward to the performance. It will be starting at 2pm and lasts an hour and 15 minutes. The children may be out slightly later than usual because of this. Please note that there will NOT be a celebration assembly on this Friday.

Meet and Greet coffee afternoon - Tuesday 19th January

Miss Bishop will be holding the first of her ‘meet and greet’ coffee afternoons on Tuesday starting at 2.30pm. The topic this week will be on the up and coming changes to school meals.

School Questionnaires

Thank you to all of the parents and children who have returned the questionnaires. A summary of the parents views will be published by the end of the term.

Have a lovely weekend!
