Newsletter 18th December - Issue 15
Dear Parents and Carers,
Due to the special assembly today, the Stars of the Week certificates for this week will be presented on 8 January
Message from Miss Bishop
It has been a very busy term and I am sure you are all ready for a well deserved Christmas break! I look forward to working with you all next year and would like to take this opportunity to Wish you all a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
Mr Haines kindly filmed the evening performance of Year R, 1 and 2’s Bossy King. If you would like a copy of the video, please speak to Kate Croker, who will order one for you. We believe the cost of the DVD is £5.00, and the majority of that is usually donated to school funds. Mr Haines is going to add the Church Service to this DVD.
Saying Goodbye To Miss Park and Miss Flatley
We said a very emotional farewell to both Miss Flately and Miss Parks this week. I am sure you join me in wishing them both success and happiness in their new adventures and I am sure we will be kept updated on their triumphs. They have both been fantastic advocates and supporters of the children and the school for many years and they will be very much missed by all.
- BIG thank you to the PSA for all the work they have done this term and especially to Donna and her helpers for organising the refreshments at the Church Service.
- BIG thank you to Reverend Sue for hosting the Church service on Tuesday

Text Santa Christmas Jumper Day
The children have raised £54.00 for Text Santa by wearing their Christmas woollies to school - you all looked great!
I am pleased to inform you that the School raised £104.13 for this year’s Poppy Appeal and the Royal British Legion have sent us a Letter of Appreciation which is displayed on the school notice board.
Road Safety in Pensford
Just a reminder to say one of our Governors is collating details of incidents of “near misses” on the roads in Pensford. If you witness a “near miss”, could you forward details to Pensford_pri@bathnes.gov.uk so that we can forward the details.
School Meals Payment
From the beginning of next Term, to ensure that your child receives a hot meal, parents MUST pay for their children’s school meals IN ADVANCE. This is the current school policy, but some parents are not paying for their children’s meals in advance and are building up large debts which staff then have to chase. This obviously is not a good use of the school’s resources and must change.
For your information, the school is within its rights to refuse a hot meal service to parents who routinely do not pay resulting in the parents having to provide sandwiches for their children. Free School Meals Registration forms are readily available in the document holders in the School Office. For your information, you can pay weekly, monthly or termly in advance. Your cooperation with this will be greatly appreciated.
