Message from Miss Bishop
Unfortunately due to family circumstances, Mrs Bills will not be able to finish the term in Kingfisher class. Mr Tony Gray, an experienced Key Stage 2 teacher will teach in Kingfisher until the end of this term. Mr Samuel Miller, the new Kingfisher class teacher will start with us in Term 5.
Cost of School Meal Increase
Reminder that school meal prices will be increasing to £2.40 per child per day from Monday 11th April 2016. As previously stated, this is due to BANES increasing the cost of a school meal. If you could continue to pay in advance for school meals, we would be most grateful. Application forms for Free School Meals are available in the leaflet holders in Reception should you wish to apply.
BIG thank you to Mr Haines who made the DVDs of recent events at the school and donated £60 for school funds—this will be spent on outdoor equipment for EYFS. Photo’s to follow!
Active Kids Vouchers
Thank you for all the vouchers already received. We are still collecting them right up until 3 May 2016. We have a collection box in reception. The more vouchers received the more sports equipment we can buy! If your friends, family and neighbours wish to save them for us as well, we would be most grateful.
The appointment sheets for Parents Evening are available in Reception. Please pop in or phone the office for an appointment. It is the School’s intention that all parents/carers attend for this evening.
KINGFISHER parents evening will be postponed and re arranged due to Mrs Bills’ absence. A new date will be arranged in Term 5, with the opportunity to meet the new teacher. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Kisses for Kaylum Appeal
For the past six months Tesco Express in Whitchurch have been raising funds for a brave 5 year old called Kaylum. Kaylum has neuroblastoma, a life threatening cancer. We are arranging a non uniform day on Thursday 24th March in exchange for a small donation. All donations received will go towards the kisses for Kaylum appeal to raise funds to enable him to travel to America for possible life saving treatments. Thank you for your support.
Message from the Governors
You will be aware that we have advertised for the position of Head Teacher to start in the next school year. We are pleased to report that we have had a significant amount of interest and over the next two weeks the school governors will be very busy with the recruitment process. Interviews are set for Monday and Tuesday 14th & 15th March at the school. Many pupils will be involved and we seek your understanding that there will be some inevitable disruption to their normal lessons on these days. We are sure you will agree it will be worth it for the long term future of the education of our children to find the best candidate.
Provision of BANES Music Service Instrument Tuition
You will have received an email regarding the changes in booking and paying for music instrument tuition by BANES Music Service. Can I remind you that if you wish to use this service for your child from April onwards, you will need to contact BANES Music Service by FRIDAY 11 MARCH 2016.
Please see page 3 of our newsletter showing some of the fabulous homework we have been receiving from our children. A big well done to those of you who have taken the time and produced some excellent work.
