Message from Miss Bishop
Welcome back! We hope you all had a fantastic break and enjoyed all the festivities. We are back into the full swing of school life and the children are busy learning and taking part in a range of activities. The school is moving forward swiftly and there has been and will be lots of changes. In order to keep you updated I will be holding regular coffee afternoons where I can inform you of the changes and you can ask me about what is next for the school. I will send out dates and brief agendas early next week so you can choose which ones you wish to attend.
A parent Questionnaire:
I will also be sending home a parent questionnaire with each pupil on Monday in order for you to let me know what you feel are the strengths and areas for development from a parent or carer’s perspective. It is an opportunity to be part of moving the school forward and sharing your views with key stakeholders. Every child that returns the questionnaire by Monday 18th January will receive a story book that they can keep as a thank you for participating.
We are very excited to announce that Mrs Britton is expecting a baby! We are really pleased for Mrs Britton and her family at this very special time. We will be taking very good care of her and will keep you updated with any information regards Dragonfly class and maternity leave. I am sure the children will be very excited about the new arrival as the staff are.
To all parents and friends of Pensford School who collected tokens for the ‘Bristol Post’ Science Giveaway—unfortunately we did not win the £10,000 but thanks anyway for your hard work
Miss Flately and Miss Park would like to thank everyone for the amazing support and gifts they received at the end of last term. They send their best wishes to you all and the children.
Special School Lunch on 21 January 2016—Your Assistance Is Needed
We are due to have a special school lunch of Hot Dogs (Meat & Quorn) on 21 January 2016 and it would be great if all KS1 children could have lunch on this day. The reason for this is that this date is when the Department of Education works out what funding is given to schools by the number of children in KS1 who have a school lunch. Therefore, the more KS1 children who have a lunch, the more funding we will receive. To avoid any confusion, this meal is for ALL children at the school but we will be monitored on the number of KS1 Therefore the “Census Day Menu” letter which was sent out yesterday needs to be returned for ALL CHILDREN by TUESDAY 12 JANUARY.
