School Council

The School Council consists of two children from each year group (Years 2 - 6).  They were chosen by their peers to represent the views of their class and the school.  School Council will meet twice termly with an aim to listen to the student voice and allow students a say in what happens at our school.

The children may also have questions about school life - these questions will be passed to Mr Barton who will aim to respond to the School Council before the following meeting.  In this respect we hope our children at Pensford Primary School will feel their opinions are valued and respected.

The School Council has chosen the charity to support this year:

Cancer Research UK
The children felt that raising money for one charity would allow us to focus our fundraising and hopefully give a fairly generous donation to a single organisation.

Many charities were discussed but ultimately the children voted for Cancer Research UK.  With no government funding, Cancer Research UK is dependent on fundraising - their aim: to help scientists, doctors and nurses save lives and help beat cancer sooner.

Coin Trail Term 3

In Term 3 we ran a School Council Morning.  This included the School Council organising and creating a Coin Trail to raise money for the school.  The trail raise £81.03 and the School Council will be involved in discussions regarding how this money will be spent.
